19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” 20 And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. 21 [“But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”]
Jen and I feel a lot like the disciples in this passage of scripture. They were questioning their circumstances just like we do. Their question was why. “Why did it not happen?” “Why is it this way?” “Why is it not working?” And, just like us, they were walking with Jesus and following His ways. However, it still lead to disappointment.
In this passage Jesus mentions having faith enough to see it happen. But instead of stopping there, He even gives us the secret to our faith. Prayer and fasting.
This has been the secret sauce to our little miracle. Each time we reached a dead end, the doctor said no, or our faith questioned, people prayed. Each and everyone of you who walked with us, prayed with us, fasted with us, and believed with us, made the difference. Asher Jaxon is here today because of all of you.
We gave Asher his middle name Jaxon because it means God has been gracious and shown favor. He has surely done that. Asher means happy and blessed, and that he is.
Today, because you prayed, even eight weeks early he is breathing 100% on his own, his heart rate is normal, and he is totally healthy. Today, because you prayed, hundreds of people have witnessed a miracle from God. Today, because you prayed, a little boy will grow up to live Life on Purpose and give his life for the good of others.
To all who prayed, Jen and I thank you. Asher thanks you. Thank you for each text, call, message, card, gift, etc. We love you and appreciate you more than you know.
To all who are praying for your miracle, keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep praying. God is faithful.
