It’s a brand new year which means a brand new start. God gives us fresh starts all the time. Every 60 seconds is a new minute. Every 60 minutes is a new hour. Every 24 hours is a new day, every seven days is a new week, etc. The point is, God loves to give us a reset. Here are three areas to take ownership of our lives this year.

  1. My Time – Ephesians 5:15 NASB
Benjamin Franklin said “Do you love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.” You may delay, but time will not. Get a plan for your life this year. I promise if you don’t have a plan the enemy does. Get the heart of God and discover his plan. Learn to say no to the good so you can say yes to the great. Take ownership of your time this year.
  2. My Feelings – Jeremiah 17:9
Feelings change like the wind and if you follow your feelings it will be as beneficial as chasing the wind. We are temped daily to act on feeling and emotion. How quickly have you said and done something you regret simply because it was motivated by feeling? Take control over your thoughts and feelings so that you can take ownership of your actions this year.
  3. My Faith – Philippians 2:12-13
It may be cliche but it’s still true; 2019 will be the best year of your life if it’s your best year spiritually. Commit to the daily disciples of prayer, Bible reading, worship, and serving. Prepare for your best year ever by taking ownership of your spiritual life.

What are your goals for 2019?
