Thanks to Shoutout Atlanta for the recent highlight. Shoutout Atlanta is part of the Los Angeles based Voyage Group of Magazines. Their focus is on life, work, love, parenting, finances, and more.

Here is my interview with them.

Hi Brandon, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Discover what it means to live life on purpose.”

Through life we get board, rush to grow up and then wish to be kids again. We lose our health to make money, and then lose money to regain our health. We wish so much for the future, that we fail to live in the present or the future.
We live as though we will never die, and die as if we have never lived.

Life on Purpose has become the theme of my life. I want to squeeze the most out of every experience and make a difference along the way. I want to be someone who is giving and not just taking. I want people to see what Jesus has done in me, working through me.

For me, purpose is what I found through Jesus. Having experienced life change in Him motivates me to give that to others. Life on Purpose for my family began 10 years ago when we quit our jobs, moved to a brand new city, and launched a church where anyone and everyone from anywhere and everywhere could experience the same life change. Since then, Cultivate Church has become known for helping others discover what it means to live life on purpose.

Jump out of the 9 to 5 cycle of life. Stop working for the weekend. Life is short, go live it on purpose. Make a difference. Do good. Make the world around you a better place.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My greatest joy is helping others become better versions of themselves. This passion exists not only through the church but in business as well. I love helping organizations develop healthy cultures, systems, and structures. Here is some feedback from Jeffrey C. Hunter, Founder and CEO of Storyteller Overland:

“Brandon Matthews is the rare thought leader who truly understands the importance of both the big picture (Vision) as well as the significance of each individual brush stroke (Strategy). His passion for building people to unleash the full potential of an organization is contagious, and his practical insights for the day to day disciplines of excellence will revolutionize the way you add value to your customer’s lives. Whether you and your team are seeking to better define your core values or authentically engage your target audience, you will benefit immensely from Brandon Matthews’ incisive communication principals and effective training style.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Top Golf and dinner at Uptown is a great spot for evening fun and a day on one of the many local lakes would be great for daytime.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The success of your public life is found in your private life. There are countless people who have impacted my life over the years. My parents helped shape my character and work ethic. My Pastor, Frankie Powell helped shape my spiritual life. My best friends of over 20 years Brandon and Danielle Doss have walked with me through every stage of life. My favorite person on the planet who happens to be my wife of nealry 13 years, Jen has been all of that and more.
