In 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. said:

“We must face the fact that in America the church is still the most segregated major institution in America. At 11:00 on Sunday morning when we stand and sing and Christ has no east or west, we stand at the most segregated hour in this nation. This is tragic.”

Yet today, in 2015, 8 out of ten churches still have one predominant racial group. In John 17:21-23 Jesus prayed

21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. 22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

At Cultivate Church we feel like “the church” has the answer to the prayer that Jesus prayed. We feel it is our responsibility to make a difference. Imagine a church where that was a priority. Imagine a church that looked just like its community. Imagine people from all backgrounds and races worshiping God together.

Join with us as we pursue unity through diversity. Let’s forget our prejudice and pursue the heart of Christ. Together we can make a difference in the world around us. For more information visit
