This From the Vault dates back to 2008. I hope it encourages today as it did then.

1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD : 2 “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” 3 So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. 5 Then the word of the LORD came to me: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?” declares the LORD. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.
Jeremiah 18:1-6

In a matter of six months every single area of my life has changed in so many ways. From relationships, friendships, church, ministry, passion, drive, desire, vision, and direction. Nothing is the same, and I have to be very honest, it’s been very hard. I can honestly say that even though I’ve been through many different changes and stages of life, this is really the first time I’ve ever experienced being totally broken, and rebuilt.

God has taken my life and once again shaped it to what He sees best. His best is not always our desire or understanding. His hands have been marred into my life, and He has been making me into something new. He has been teaching me once again that He is the potter and I am the clay. But I am so thankful that “like clay in the hand of the potter, I am in his hand.”

There is new vision, new direction, new passion, and new purpose for my life. What God had built to this point was to prepare me for what He is remolding me to be, and to do. I can tell you that even though the molding process is hard, uncomfortable, scary, and painful, there is nothing better than to know that you are in the potters hand and that He is molding you into something new and great.

I want to tell you from experience today that even though you may be broken and don’t understand, if you are following the Lord it is possible that He is just reshaping you into something greater for His purpose. It will be the hardest thing you ever go through, but it will be the best. I wouldn’t take back this year for anything.

The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Isaiah 58:11

This scripture is so true, and it’s for you too. Don’t be discouraged today…

1. The Lord will guide you always – He has done that for me!
2. He will satisfy your needs – God has provided for me spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially
3. He will strengthen you – I’m so thankful for His strength. It’s been only by His strength!
4. You will have life! – During my remolding it seemed as though my life was over. Everything was gone, everything had changed. But I can tell you that just as a well watered garden is beautiful and full of life, I have an abundant life today!

I’m still walking through the process today, and will continue tomorrow. But I’m encouraged once again that “like clay in the hand of the potter, I am in his hand.” Are you in His hands? Do you have the same hope in Christ? If not, I would love to help you reach it!
He is the Potter and I am the Clay!
