We all have things we enjoy and mine happens to be technology. I even enjoy the unboxing process. When it’s new the battery functions at 100%, the processor isn’t slowed down by lots of “stuff,” and the memory is still 100% available.

However, over time things change. I begin to alter the factory settings. I change the background picture. I fill the memory with apps, pictures, documents, and other random things that I may even forget about. The processor works throughout the day under the pressure of the tasks I ask it to perform, and the battery is charged several times per day just to keep up. Over time the device no longer functions as it did from the factory and needs a factory reset.

We are never better than when we came from the factory. I mean we are never better than when we are operating exactly the way God designed. However, like my devices, I do it my way. I change settings, customize it to my liking, over work it, etc. Then before I know it my battery can’t keep up and I no longer function like before. Like my device, I need a factory reset.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV)

If you find yourself needing a factory reset simply return to the one who makes all things New. You can be brand new and function at 100% of your purpose and potential.

What area of your life do you need a reset?
