“I doubt that” or “I’ll believe it when I see it” are all statements we have made at some point in our lives. Doubt is common to us all. Charles Holland Duell, Commissioner of the trademark office from 1898-1901 reportedly said “Everything that can be invented has been invented.” By the sound of that statement you would think some incredible inventions took place in that time period. Let’s see what they were:

Candy Corn
Vertical Filing Cabinet
Fly Swatter
Windowed Envelope
Assembly Line
Remote Control

Nothing in that list sounds real exciting to me. Think of all the inventions that have taken place since! But doubt lead Charles to believe it couldn’t get any better. Today, is your doubt telling you things will never be better?

Doubt can make us delay making decisions out of concern for mistake and failure, or it can make us ask questions. Asking questions is what leads scientist and inventors to discoveries. Today, if you will ask God in your season of doubt, He will give you answers. Scripture says:

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

So toady, seek Him. Ask Him some questions. Your doubt will turn into discoveries, and your discoveries will turn into belief.
